4 von 5 Very effective training tool but could also be better. Highly recommend.

This laser biathlon training rifle uses the same gun stock as the Anschütz 1827, uses a charging action for its laser thats very similar to the Fortner action of the 1827 and its trigger feel is also almost completely identical to the 1827. I also shoot the 1827 with the same traditional wooden comfort stock so I can verify from personal experience. The transition from training on the laser to shooting the real 1827 rifle is almost seamless for me - the only hitch for prospective buyers is that Anschütz seems to have tried to broadened the market for the laser and also reduced the cost of the laser by not completely simulating the 1827 so I had to modify my laser rifle to achieve its full potential. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

The laser rifle is much too light and the laser barrel is also too short. However, you can modify the laser by adding custom weights at the correct locations and also install the correct front sight (with snow cover) as well as shoulder harness and biathlon hand stop/sling set. This adds significant cost but makes the laser essentially identical to the 1827 except for it being a non-firearm. I leave my modified laser on my chaisse lounge so I can pick it up any time to take practice shots at a 10M air rifle target placed at 140cm height on one of my kitchen cabinets. The laser is bright enough that I can easily spot my (standing) shots without using the included biathlon target lights that come with this set. Its very convenient because its always ready and theres nothing to set up. The laser significantly improves my standing position performance. If you want to make your training very demanding by setting up the target lights with the prone shooting target mask but shoot from the standing position. The target then becomes much smaller that the actual biathlon standing targets.
